Beautiful Bastard - Christina Lauren First, I would like to thank Gallery Books for the ARC I received. I have always posted honest reviews and sometimes those reviews aren't so glowing, but for the sake of readers everywhere I have to be honest. That being said....

To begin, I would like to say that from reading the blurb it was my understanding that the two main characters, Chloe and Bennett, would be meeting for the first time, at least face to face. Not so. Unfortunately, they apparently have worked together for 3 yrs (I think?) and have a established relationship. Or relationSHIT to borrow a word from Dane Cook. Now if the author had decided to do it my way, readers could have seen a bit of character development along with a relationship that develops along with it. NOT THE CASE.

If you are looking for a book that it SOLELY sex and little to no plot other that sex than this is for you. I have to admit, I love a good sex scene as much as anyone, but when the book progresses like this: four sentences of dialogue, sex, brief inner monologue (about said sex), sex, sex, sex, thinking about sex, dreaming about sex, boom oh wait a tic! I think I love you! The end. I have to be honest: I wouldn't even call how I read as skimming or skipping. It was downright flipping pages until I saw dialogue, rolling my eyes, find more dialogue, rinse and repeat. My lord woman! No need to beat us over the head with torn panties.

AND THE CREEPY UNDERWEAR OBSESSION!!!! Jesus, Bennett, keeping one pair can be kinda hot, if a little kinky, but every. single. pair? That's gross. And expensive. That is all I could think about, especially since our Lil Chloe shops at La Perla. WHO must have signed a deal for some advertising since the author literally name drops half a dozen times.

It just sucks so much because I can really see some potential. I really can, but I have no idea what happened and its a little more than frustrating. It's awesome that this author has such a strong following because if not I do not see this getting off the ground. OH WAIT! This is a thing now isn't it? Mommy porn? IMO this was straight porn. It's not bad porn/erotica and if this book was marketed under those genres I probably would be singing a different tune, but it's not and I feel a little cheated.

If y'all are looking for some sexed up Twilight fanfic riding along the wave of Fifty Shades and that other series with that dude Gideon than this is for you. Not my cup of tea.
